Ocean State for condolence card
There's a word for a map that visualises the area within a given drive-time from a given location:
isochrone maps !
If Charlotte area is the new prime target, then
- what suburbs are least affected by PFAS pollution?
- what's within the isochrone map of not-a-miserable-commute range?
For that matter, what commute time makes an otherwise-ok job into a burnout risk?
The national avg commute is under 30 minutes (25~27 but ? error margin)
with 45 minutes being the turning point.
Some studies identify this as the "20-minute penalty":
Adding 20 min to 1-way commute degrades job satisfaction comparable to a 20% pay cut!
60 minutes each way is the threshold of unsustainability for most commuters.

As of 2024, [utility drinking water service areas served directly by "Charlotte Water"] report undetectable or barely-detectable (and well below violation thresholds) PFAS contamination.
